January 5 athletic events

The wrestling team is competing in the Predator Duals and the high school basketball teams will be playing at Corinth, Mississippi. The games start at noon. Good luck, athletes. Go falcons!

Wrestling wins over Austin, Hartselle, Wilson

Florence wrestling put the squeeze on their opponents Tuesday, going 3-0 over Austin, Hartselle, and Wilson. The Falcons will take a short holiday break but will be back in action on January 3 at 5:30 in the FHS Dome, when they battle it out with Muscle Shoals and Mae Jamison.

The Florence wrestling team bused over to Huntsville High for the 39th Annual Huntsville Invitational this past weekend.  The semi-seasoned varsity wrestlers faced some stiff competition but managed to still come away with seventeen wins; nearly a dozen of them came by pin. Falcon Wrestling is alive and well.  21 wrestlers warmed up tonight.  The varsity team suffered a loss to a strong Oakland, TN team but defeated the host, Lawrence County, TN, 38-32.  It was an exciting start to the varsity season.  This weekend, the Falcons will travel to compete in the Huntsville Invitational.

WRESTLING: Huntsville Invitational

At the 38th Annual Huntsville Invitational, Falcon wrestlers finished with 31 wins and 23 losses.  Of those wins, 23 came by fall (pin).  In the 7th-9th grade branch of the tournament, Falcon wrestlers showed out, with every wrestler claiming a pin and two wrestlers taking home gold and silver medals.
