Girls soccer team defeated East Limestone in first game of season

Falcons Girls Soccer kicked off the season with 1-0 victory over East Limestone. This year’s team is a good mix of young and senior talent. Florence held strong the first half with Maddox Dolly recording 7 saves. In the second half, the Florence girls took over and found their rhythm with Selah Fields scoring the winning goal.

2018 Girl’s Soccer Evaluations

Girl’s soccer evaluations are taking place at the North Florence soccer fields on Chisolm Road.  The dates of evaluations are: Nov. 8, Nov. 9, Nov. 13, Nov. 15, Nov. 17 Evaluations begin at 5:30 PM and will end at 7:00 PM.  Participants should have a signed physical, shinguards (with NOACSE seal), and cleats.

Holmes, Ridgeway, Borden: TimesDaily athletes of the year

Congratulations to Lily Holmes, Mary Claire Ridgeway, and Mary Margaret Borden for being selected as TimesDaily Athletes of the year. Lily Holmes was named Times Daily Female Athlete of the Year for 2017-18.  In addition, Lily was named the TimesDaily 4A-6A Girls Tennis Player of the Year for the third consecutive year. Girls Soccer ties James Clemens 0-0

The Florence varsity girl’s soccer team held James Clemens (ranked #6 in 7A) to a 0-0 tie.  It was a very defensive game.  The defense was led by the Jackson trio: Brantly, Blake, and Braiden.  Rounding out the solid defense Andrea Marroquin and Aleysia Pons.  Katelyn Jensen was the player of the game making 14
