Cross Country at the Randolph XC Classic
Recap by Coach Lynch
What an amazing day we had at the Randolph XC Classic at UAH in Huntsville yesterday! This course is set up as somewhat of an “obstacle” course, with muddy waters to cross through, hay bales to jump over, and even themed characters cheering the runners on throughout! Even with the mud, obstacles, and knee deep waters, our runners showed unwavering determination and strong spirits!
Our JV Boys team kicked the race off, and was led by Reed Trapp, who came in 2nd place out of 210 runners, with a time of 11:43. Working together, our JV Boys Team scored 5th place! Our JV girls did an incredible job as well, scoring 3rd place for their team! Leading the JV girls was 7th grader Bella Rhodes, who came in 3rd place, out of 142 runners, with a time of 14:08. Also in the top 20 was Nora Redding in 5th place and Ellie Von Herrmann in 14th place. Way to go JV boys and girls!!
Our Varsity Boys team was led by Bennett Brake, who came in 3rd place out of 237 runners, with a time of 16:25. Also in the top 20 was David Rubolin, who came in 20th. The Varsity Boys team scored 5th place for their team! Our Varsity Girls team capped off our day, and was led by Sydney Byrd, who came in 16th out of 121 runners, with a time of 22:22. Abby Dickerson was also in the top 20 girls, coming in 17th place. The Varsity girls Team came in 4th place today! Amazing job, Varsity boys and girls!
Florence Cross Country Runners worked so hard yesterday! They pushed past their limits, jumped in the water, trudged through the mud, and continued down the path with determined spirits. Our Mighty Falcons are going big places!!
Our next meet is this Saturday, September 22, at the Scottsboro Invitational in Scottsboro, Alabama. Please bring family and friends to come out to cheer on these hard working athletes! GO FALCONS!!
