LSU pitcher Hunter Kiel was chosen by the Chicago White Sox in the 18th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft Wednesday. He was the 537th pick overall.

Kiel, a JUCO transfer from Pensacola State, appeared in 10 games as a reliever and finished with an 18.47 ERA, the highest on the team. He has a high-90s fastball and was chosen by Arizona in the 29th round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of high school.
